Even the dark side of the Federation can be incompetent Last Update - September 14, 2005 Section 31. It's the dark side of the Federation. This secret organization is responsible for carrying out the dirty work that the Federation itself, for its own moral principles, does not wish to get involved in (wimps!). To work in Section 31, you cannot exist. Your past, your identity, everything about you is erased. And you must be of extreme physical and mental prowess - cunning, fast and smooth. The crew of the U.S.S. Banshee does not meet those qualifications. Not by a long shot. Inducted into Section 31 through a complete accident, this less-than-stellar crew commands the flagship of Section 31's secret starfleet. Yeah, I'm pretty afraid myself. Site NewsAfter over a year and a half of work, the first major Banshee novel has reached completion, ending Season Two after six long years. (Hey, better late than never!) "Upstarts" is now posted on the Stories page for everyone's consumption. The novel is very large (160 pages, about 380 KB to download) so those with dialup modems, please be patient. Upstarts represents a major mark in Banshee history, as well as the history of he who writes it. The novel attempts to establish a depth in my characters I never reached for previously in the series, and in many ways redefines who they are. I know some people never got into Banshee or had a hard time getting into it because of the simple fact that it was harder to care about the characters because they weren't well established. This attempts to change that, and by all accounts it seems to have worked. As such, even if you've never been into Banshee before, this is a good way to reintroduce yourself. Why reintroduce yourself? Because today I'm also announcing that there will be a Season Three! Work is already underway for what promises to be one of the most fun seasons yet.
